The UK Floorball Federation (UKFF) is a non-profit organisation that governs and develops floorball in the UK. It operates in three national regions (Midland, South, and Scotland), supporting and managing most floorball activities, including adults, British university leagues, and youth. The UKFF is a member of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) and controls the Great Britain Men’s national floorball team. The team has yet to win the World Floorball Championships.
The IFF runs floorball at a global level. Global events include an annual EuroFloorball Cup and EuroFloorball Challenge, along with the biennial World Floorball Championships, which features both men’s and women’s divisions. While there are 75 member countries in the IFF, floorball remains more popular in those countries where it’s been developed the longest. However, it’s also gaining popularity in a number of other countries, including the United Kingdom.
Floorball Schedule
The IFF has a world ranking system, which is based on the standings of the previous two Floorball World Championships. This ranking dictates the seeding for the following championships. Champions from the four highest-ranked conferences face off at the Champions Cup. The Men’s World Floorball Championship commenced in early December. The Champions Cup takes place in January.
